In 2006 or 2007, the first set of bats were found dead in a cave in Albany, NY
Since then over a million bats have dyed in the Northeast from what is known as White-Nose Syndrome.
It is estimated that in 7 to 30 years these bats (Little Brown Bats) will totally disappear.
Their death is a mystery. And follows the devastation of the world's frogs and honeybees. All with some significance and importance to the order in which we live. Honeybees are responsible for controlling pullination of plants in which we eat. Bats are responsible for controlling the worlds insect population.That includes the mosquitoe - which now incidentally spreads the west nile disease.
The mystery here is no more important than any of the other mysteries we face in this world today. It is however very significant to our survival. For more info on this read the following articles:
