Not many people know that under the law, you may be a producer of alternative
fuels. This is not a hard to do, if you have some land you can operate a still on. There is but one mistake people who have
tried this at home have made. They forgot to apply for a license with the U.S. Department of Treasury. One thing to keep in
mind when deciding to do something on your own, check the laws to see what is required of you.
Like many years ago, electricity became such a high demand product, the
government passed a law, that allowed homeowners, property owners to produce their own electricity and required the
electric companies to buy it back from them in excess of any of their own use. For instance, if they produced 1000kw and
only used 450, the electric company was required to buy back the 550 kw the producer could not use.
In this same vain, I can not tell you at this time, that should you produce your own
fuel and can not use it all that the oil companies should be required to buy the excess off you. "They Should", that is, be
required to buy it off you, I can tell you this. And I can not say whether or not you can sell it to your neighbor, but as long as
you pay your alternative fuels tax, I don't see any reason why you can not sell it to your neighbors and friends - outside of any
local rules or laws forbidding it.
Should you have any felony convictions I do not know if you can produce your
own fuel. I do know that on the application, they do ask if you were ever convicted of a crime. There is an application part
and the licensing part. You will need to know how to make moonshine or some form of alcohol. One note here, buying rice,
corn or other product directly off a farmer could be quite expensive. Use the backend I speak of alot here. Get your neighbors
and friends to save their scraps and garbage for you and do it with this stuff.

But if you want to do it the easy way get their phone number and find out as much as you can by making a call. In the event of
producing your own fuel, if you do not have the qualifications to make the stuff, there are many good reads on the web about
producing your own liquer or alcohol.

One more note here, there are a lot of wild fruits growing all over the country. Apples are great for liquor
and they are free to pick in the wild!
